Jumoke Odetola
Jumoke Odetola, born on October 16, 1988, in Lagos, Nigeria, is a distinguished Nigerian actress, producer, model, and writer. She hails from Ijemo, Abeokuta in Ogun State. Jumoke began her education at ABATI Nursery/Primary School in Lagos before attending Abeokuta Girls Grammar School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology/Computer Science from Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State, and a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Jumoke started her acting career in English-language Nollywood films before transitioning to Yoruba cinema, where she gained significant recognition. Her breakout role was in the film Binta Ofege, which showcased her talent and acting prowess. In addition to her acting career, Jumoke Odetola is recognized for her philanthropy and advocacy work. She produced the film Trap, which highlights the dangers of drug abuse and its impact on society. The movie was supported by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and MTN Nigeria, reflecting her commitment to social causes. She has also been honored with awards such as Best Actress of the Year (Yoruba) at the City People Movie Awards in 2021 and was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Leaders in Nigeria by the Pan African Youth Leadership Award in 2022.
